Matthew and Sarah arrived at 12:30 to pick up Niamh, Margaret opened her presents and we had some chocolate cake and said farewell to them at ~ 13:30. We were planning to leave at 14:15 to get through Cromwell at high tide at 16:00, but got itchy feet and left at 13:40 turned around below the bridge and locking through at 15:10. Had a good tow down river averaging after Cromwell ~ 6 mph, so it only took us 2 hrs 40 mins down to Torksey where we moored up for the night. Being a head wind against the tide the river was quite choppy with some of the waves breaking over the bow of the boat, but overall a good journey. Met up with the other two boats from Ripon, who left 2 hrs before us and arrived about 20 mins in front of us. They are still nervous about tomorrows journey.
