Left Longport in the drizzle and made steady progress down to Eturia Wharf (Stoke) where we filled up with water on the branch to the Calden Canal, so you have to turn around and then come back on yourself to get back onto the Trent & Mersey. While doing this a queue of boats built up at the lock and we had to wait our turn. Finally through the first 2 locks of the day we then made stready progress and didn't stop until we reached the mooring near the Wedgwood Factory just before Barlaston where we had planned to stay for the night and the following day to visit the factory.
