Left at 09:15 after filling up with water. Steady progress on this leg with some shallow sections. Now back to broad locks from Stenson lock, so doubled up with other boater. Stopped for lunch at Aston Lock where we doubled up with a hire boat, which crashed into my rear as he entered the lock and decided that his idea of normal speed was less than my tickover...luckily he decided to pull in about a mile further on. Pushed on past Shardlow where we stopped going out, onto Sawley Cut, which is back on the Trent... good to have some water under the boat for a change. Niamh got two commendations for her lock operation. They all want one...
