Left Audlem at 10:45 after I went to the Co-op for some provisions and Niamh and Margaret went to the craft shop for a shopping fix. We decended out of Audlem through the remaining 3 locks of the 15 in the flight and proceeded on through Nantwich, which as VERY busy...it must be a magnet for boats, but we were also told thet there was a concert on for the losers of X factor, including Jedward, from the raised up banking going into Nantwich you overlooked a field with some tents in but not much happening. The landscape is a lot flatter now we are in Cheshire as you can see from the photos. You pass the entrance to the Llangollen Canal before turning right onto the Shropshire Union (Middlewich Branch) and stopped just before the first lock. Guess what... the on-board pump-out failed again, so the first job was to fix that. This time there was what looked like a peppercorn stuck in the valve (twice), but hopefully it will be OK now. Not a pleaseant job before tea. But have now been fed, walked the dogs and had a shower. Margaret and Niamh watching tele as we can get Sky OK here.
