Entered the lock at 08:50 and penned out at 09:15 on slack water with Kitty and Jack hot on our heels. The tide caught up with us within 30 mins and we were soon travelling at 8 mph. We reached 9 mph going through Gainsborough it did feel fast as the river narrows and then you go under a bridge before turning a sharp left hand bend. In places with the tide against the wind we had waves braking over the bow. We reached Torksey at 13:05 and moored on the floating pontoons. Said goodbye to Kitty and Jack who were going on to Lincoln where they were leaving the boat for two weeks and of course getting the window fixed.
