Left at 09:00 and was soon going through Fradley Junction where we were part of a group of three boats until the junction where boats join / leave the Coventry Canal. Fradley Junction has 5 lock in a row through the village. Got through quite well as you can at times be ina queue for hours. The next main town is Armitage (the toilets can be seen in the yard next to the canal). We stopped at bridge 58....we could smell fish and chips so stopped and had some. The next town is Rugeley which is sprawling, shallow and slow due to all the moored boats. Approaching Great Haywood you pass Shugborough Hall and guess what..... there was a music festival on so about a mile of boats moor up to listen to the concert, so we didn't stop there...we pushed on and turned left onto the Staffordshire and Worcester Canal at Great Haywood, Managed to moor at the top side of Tixall Wide. A long day, so a quick walk for the dogs and something to eat. Just going to bed and a fireworks display unsettled Jess, but it did not last too long.
