Cast off at ~10:30 arrived at 14:15.

What a day this was. Gale forced cross winds made it very difficult. At the first bridge got stuck for 20 mins at the mooring unable to get off the side. Tried to pole off, but the pole slipped and tore the cratch cover in the corner and Margaret twisted her hand. Finally got off when the wind dropped slightly and with the help of the bow-thruster we manged just to get going. Pushed on trying to moor up wind where possible. At the final bridge before the sliding railway bridge (Varzon Bridge) Narrow boat "Waterwych II" caught the swing bridge corner and smashed one of it's windows. Helped to secure it at the mooring. Jack was lucky as he was walking down the gunwale and was nearly pinned up against the bridge, he jumped onto the roof just in time..
